Lexie and Joel’s summer wedding at The Fields Reserve in Stoughton, Wisconsin was the perfect blend of Midwest charm and Southern hospitality. Their running theme throughout the day was “Wisconsin girl marries North Carolina boy,” and every part of the celebration reflected the life they built together after meeting hundreds of miles from home. As a Wisconsin wedding videographer, The Fields Reserve is one of my favorite venues to film because it offers the open countryside feel so many couples love while still providing a bright, modern barn for celebrations in any weather.
Lexie grew up in Wisconsin before taking a leap of faith and moving to Greenville, North Carolina for her first job after college. Knowing no one, she never imagined she’d meet her future husband there. Through co-workers’ mutual friends, she met Joel during a casual night out that turned into a day on the boat – and the rest fell into place.
Lexie wanted a wedding venue where she could breathe, spread out, and feel surrounded by nature. The Fields Reserve in Stoughton was exactly that. Although summer rain moved the ceremony indoors, the rustic barn created a beautiful backdrop that felt every bit as inviting as the original outdoor plan. Greenery, white florals, shades of tan, and the clean design of the venue gave the day a fresh, understated elegance.
Before their ceremony, they shared an emotional first look, a quiet moment that perfectly reflected the excitement of finally bringing both of their worlds together. They later exchanged personal vows during the ceremony, making the day feel even more meaningful. Once the reception started, the energy completely shifted in the best way. Lexie changed into a second dress for dancing, and the party vibe continued long into the night.
For couples planning a wedding at The Fields Reserve, looking for a barn wedding venue near Madison, Wisconsin, or searching for a Wisconsin wedding videographer, Lexie and Joel’s day is a wonderful example of how a celebration can feel both relaxed and unforgettable. Rain or shine, The Fields Reserve remains one of the most beautiful venues for a modern Wisconsin wedding.
