A Summer Engagement at Menomonee Park

I’m excited to be kicking off my summer engagement sessions off with the cutest little lovebirds, Sabrina and Clayton!!

Their love story begins in high school, where they met through a mutual friend. They started dating (yay high school sweethearts!!!) and also attended prom together! It’s so adorable and I can totally relate because that’s how my husband and I started dating too!

Sabrina LOVES to read books and one of the ways she wanted to celebrate her birthday was by visiting Barnes & Nobles, of course! It was a warm day in October, but Clayton decided to wear his jacket inside, which Sabrina thought was a little peculiar. Little did she know that hidden inside Clayton’s jacket was an engagement ring!! While inside browsing books, Clayton hands Sabrina a wedding planning book and then promptly gets down on one knee and proposes to her!!! So stinkn’ adorable!!

The engagement ring is a family heirloom! It was originally Clayton’s great-grandmother’s wedding ring, and it’s been passed down for three generations. I think that is an amazing way to honor and cherish the memory and legacy of their loved ones!

Sabrina and Clayton are the perfect examples of how I help my clients feel completely at home in front of the camera. They told me at the beginning of their session, “we don’t know how to pose for pictures!’ (which is totally not true after you see the results!), but I could tell they were a little nervous at the beginning. But they did A-MAZ-ING, right!?!? They are quick learners (it helps when you’re so totally in love!) and we giggled and had fun the whole way through the session.

We had a beautiful “photographer’s playground”, as I like to call it, at Menomonee Park in Menomonee Falls. It’s the perfect backdrop to a wide variety of portrait locations – you have the beach, water, nature trails, and so much more! I will definitely be using this location again for future sessions!
