Over the course of the summer we had the privilege to work with amazing couples and capture stunning wedding moments! Our travels took us throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and even down to St. Louis, Missouri! We were so happy to end our busy wedding season with Josh and Katy and their beautiful outdoor ceremony at Beckman Mill in Beloit, WI. They were the first wedding that we booked for our 2014 season, and it is fitting that we would wrap up with this wonderful couple.
The day started with clouds and rain, but it quickly turned into a gorgeous warm fall afternoon. Josh and Katy’s wedding ceremony was so very intimate and it captured their personalities perfectly! Little touches of whimsy combined with the Victorian elegance of Katy’s stunning dress made for a beautiful wedding. It was so moving to see Josh’s reaction to his beautiful bride walking down the aisle to him! Capturing moments like this is why we do what we do! In keeping with their Victorian theme, they included a hand-fasting ceremony! For those of you who are not familiar with this centuries old tradition, it is where the hands of the bride and groom are tied together to symbolize their union, hence the phrase “tying the knot”. In Great Britain and Ireland this tradition was legally binding, and the union created by hand-fasting could only be broken by death. This was such a strong and lovely way for Josh and Katy to express their vows to each other!
Following the ceremony we took advantage of the wonderful grounds at Beckman Mill to take family and bridal party photos. Later the party moved to HHFFRRRGGH Inn in Janesville, where the couple could get the party started! They set up a wonderful candy bar that complimented their gorgeous wedding cake! It was a pleasure to watch this couple unwind and dance the night away with their friends and family! Thanks to Josh and Katy for helping us close out our wedding season on such a high note!
