Paige and Dillon’s late fall wedding day at Veterans Terrace had a beautiful mix of fall and winter touches scattered throughout their details and decor. Picture yourself sitting around the campfire roasting smores with your girls/guys while staying in a cabin in the woods up north, and that’s the kind of vibe this day felt like.
Paige and Dillon have a really cute love story that I’ve already touched on in their engagement session blog, which you can check out here. One thing to point out is their love for board games! They chose to turn this hobby into a fun game at their wedding reception. To make the bride and groom kiss at their head table, guests had to participate in rolling a blow-up dice game with the bride and groom and whoever scored lower would have to choose someone in the audience to kiss! It was quite a hit.
The day started at the Grand Geneva on a chilly morning in November. Paige and Dillon chose to have a first look to eliminate some nerves and to chase the quickly dipping sunlight that November notoriously takes away from us after daylight savings begins. This first look was so sweet, Dillon and Paige shed a few tears during these few moments where it didn’t matter how chilly it was outside, they were totally absorbed in each other!!
Some people think that by the groom seeing the bride before she walks down the aisle it takes away from that monumental moment, which I think Dillon can disagree because he still shed a few tears when he saw his bride walking towards him!
If you follow the weddings on the blog, you know that I’ve photographed weddings at Veterans Terrace a few times already this season! Every time I’m there is always so amazing, the staff always treat guests and vendors so well and the decor in the ballroom is always so elegant! Paige played softball growing up and her and her dad often played catch together, and they carried that pastime into their daddy/daughter dance, which I thought was so sweet!!
A tradition at Veterans Terrace is to hold a bride/groom first dance outside underneath the twinkle lights. Even though it was pretty chilly, Dillon and Paige might as well have been on fire with the amount of chemistry they had out there underneath the stars! It was so magical to witness them dancing while all their guests watched from the balcony above!
Thank you Paige and Dillon for inviting me into your day and allowing me to capture your elegant wedding at Veterans Terrace!
