A Magical Wedding at the historic Astor Hotel in Milwaukee
Marissa and Garrett’s magical wedding day at The Astor Hotel in Milwaukee was soooo perfect! A modern-day fairytale filled with many Disney references, great company, and happy moments!
Their ‘once upon a time’ began all the way back in high school, where they met in the marching band and forensics club. You can read all about their love story’s beginnings in their engagement blog post here.
Marissa and Garrett worked so hard to make all their dreams come true for this wedding! The wedding was originally scheduled for April 2020, but due to the pandemic, it was rescheduled to September 2020. Like all great fairytales, no obstacle can stop true love. Garrett and Marissa officially tied the knot on their original April wedding date, officiated by Marissa’s mom, and with less than 10 in attendance.
Fast forward to September 2020, their day to celebrate their love with the rest of their family was finally here! The Astor Hotel was the perfect backdrop for their wedding. This historic wedding venue in Milwaukee gave me a similar vibe to the castle in Beauty in the Beast. It had amazing mirrors and chandeliers all throughout the hotel and ballroom. It felt fitting, considering Beauty and the Beast is one of Marissa’s favorite Disney movies!
One of my FAVORITE things about this wedding was Marissa’s dress. She truly looked like a princess heading to the ball!! She was ready to get married to her prince charming!!
The ceremony was truly something to behold. First off, everyone walked down the aisle perfectly timed to the tune of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show music. Marissa’s grand entrance into the ballroom was full of magic and wonder. At the pinnacle moment in the song, the doors opened and she entered the ballroom with her mom and dad by her side. The flower boys shot off cannons of flowers into the air as she walked down the aisle. Marissa and Garrett’s vows were filled with Disney references, which was adorable!! Their love was sealed with a kiss and more flower canons!
Following the ceremony, the Astor Ballroom was quickly turned into an enchanting reception space! During their unique grand march, Marissa and Garrett shared a few laughs when each bridal party member was introduced by many quippy remarks written by the bride and groom. Throughout the evening memorable toasts were shared and the guests danced the night away.
Towards the end of the evening, we traveled up to the rooftop for some romantic moonlight photos. A perfect end to a perfect day.
And so our journey comes to an end, but yours continues on. Marissa and Garrett, you two are so utterly perfect for each other. It’s been a pleasure getting to know you over this past year. I wish all of your life’s dreams come true.
And it wouldn’t be complete without concluding with … “and they all lived happily ever after”!
