Happy 10th Birthday, Abu!

You only turn double-digits once, so LET’S PAW-TY! Happy 10th birthday, Abu! 

Growing up, I NEVER thought in a million years thought I would have a dog (I grew up with cats). Shortly after Gustavo and I got married, we toyed around with the idea of getting a dog (since he was allergic to cats) and I was SO hesitant! Taking care of a dog sounded so intimidating, and I hoped that there’d be a dog out there that would make transitioning to being a dog owner easy for us. 

Enter Abu the Pomapoo, yes, named after the monkey in the Disney movie Aladdin. He is literally the best decision Gustavo and I have made in our marriage. He’s been our rock and our best friend. He’s not just a dog, he’s family. We’ve given him about 50 nicknames and created nearly a dozen little songs that we sing to him. He loves to be held like a baby and cuddled. He had floppy ears when he was a puppy, but then they eventually perked up into big Dumbo-sized ears and it’s one of his traits that give him such personality!

Now that he’s 10, we know that every day spent with him from this day forward is a gift and we treasure every moment we have with him!
