I am bursting at the seams with excitement to share all of beautiful moments from Mallory and Shaun’s wedding day!! This wedding will forever hold a special place in my heart. Not only was it the kick-off to my 2021 wedding season, but it was also my first wedding as a full time photographer!!! That’s right, if you haven’t heard the news yet, I am no longer rockin’ the 9-5 life! After almost a decade in the making, I have reached the point of going full time in my business! So literally the day after I left my 9-5 desk job I got to go photograph Mallory and Shaun’s wedding!! How cool is that!?
Even though our paths only crossed a short time ago, I feel like I have known Mallory and Shaun for years and they are the ideal Chaviano Creative couple. They have the most infectious personality, their friends and family are so joyous and warm, and their taste in wedding style is just a dream.
A little backstory on Mallory and Shaun, they met while they were both undergraduates at Marquette University. They were waiting in line for stir-fry at one of the campus’ dining halls. For weeks afterward, Shaun couldn’t remember Mallory’s name but remembered her as “stir-fry girl”. Fast-forward a few months, they met again and started hanging out ALL the time. They got engaged this past September, after dinner at an Italian restaurant they used to go to for special occasions while in college. They were on a walk down by the Summerfest grounds, and with the skyline of the city where they met and fell in love in the background, he proposed!
Mallory and Shaun’s wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. First off, the weather! We all know February in Wisconsin is a real mixed bag for good weather. But fortunately, it was a “balmy” 45-degree day and sunny! It certainly made portrait time outside a whole lot more bearable for all! However, we did spend a little time photographing the amazing indoor spaces of The Bowery Barn! This venue is such a dream. I just love all of the white shiplap. It’s a modern white farmhouse, which feels really unique in Wisconsin. I don’t see many white interior barns around here.
After getting ready in the farmhouse, Mallory met Shaun in the main barn for a first look and private vow exchange. This first look was definitely one of my favorites. They were so in the moment, absorbed in each other’s love! The vows were just the sweetest too, I think that’s a really great idea for anything thinking of doing more traditional-based vows during the ceremony. Write your sweetheart a letter and read it to them during your first look!
One of the unique pieces Mallory and Shaun brought to the wedding were four wooden doors. They were first used during the ceremony as a grand reveal for Mallory’s entrance into the barn. It was so perfect to have my second shooter standing behind Mallory and her dad as the doors opened.
After the ceremony and some tear-jerking speeches, it was time to party! And let me tell you, this group knew how to party! The bridal party led the party and I was here for it! They really knew how to make things fun and lively! Loved their energy!
Mallory and Shaun, you guys are so perfect for each other! I know you already know that! But your personalities are so infectious and it was truly a joy to be around you both on this memorable day. I’m not even sorry for all the favorites I’m about to swamp you with in this blog post with, every moment was just so special!
