Cozy Fall Engagement Session at Carroll University + Minooka Park

I truly love it when my couples pick a location that means something to them! The majority of this session took place at Carroll University, where Paige and Dillon met when they randomly sat next to each other in anatomy class. Their college days are behind them, but you could tell they clearly felt at home while we roamed the campus.

I met Paige and Dillon for the first time towards the end of February, right before the pandemic shutdown. A lot has happened over those months! It was nice to catch up with them. Paige and Dillon work long hours as a nurse and athletic trainer, so adding the pandemic into the mix of things has made this year pretty challenging for both of them! I’m sure it was nice to take a day off and get cozy with each other during this engagement session at Carroll University.

I could tell they both were both just a littttttle nervous going into the session. But once I taught them the core poses I teach all my couples they really started to get comfortable and I think felt encouraged to really make the session their own. By the end, I overheard Paige tell Dillon “this is so much fun!”.

We walked around Carroll’s campus and they pointed out a few building where they had class and told me a few stories of their college days. I was having so much fun with this place – it was so beautiful, plus all the fall colors, too! To switch things up a bit, they changed outfits and we headed over to Minooka Park, which was pretty close by. The sun was setting and it made for some romantic sunset portraits out in nature!

I’m thankful that these two trusted me not only to capture their engagement session but that they are trusting me to capture their wedding day next year! It’s such an honor and I do not take this responsibility lightly. I can’t wait to see them again in November 2021 for their wedding day at Veterans Terrace!!!
