Garrett + Marissa | Engagement Session | Juneau Park & Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward
I am thrilled to share some of my favorites from Garrett and Marissa’s fall engagement session at Juneau Park and the Historic Third Ward in Milwaukee. It was a pretty chilly fall day with some blustery conditions, but that didn’t stop us from having fun!!
Garrett and Marissa met in high school and while they knew each other through Marching Band, they did not truly get to know each other until they both joined the Forensics team. Their practice times overlapped after school and Marissa would often fill-in to read lines for Garrett’s various group members who could not make practice. During this time, Marissa started to truly notice and like Garrett. After a few months, Garrett eventually asked her out and through the 7 years they’ve been dating they’ve experienced many things; college, travel, getting their first “big kid” jobs, and now planning a wedding!
On the day he proposed in late March of this year, Garrett planned an entire day of activities in the Third Ward. It seemed only fitting that the Third Ward would serve as one of our stops for engagement photos. While we walked around, they pointed out their favorite hot spots that they enjoy when on a date night or hanging out with friends on the weekend. Garrett popped the question at Tre Rivali, so of course, we had to take a photo in front of there! Our other location was Juneau Park so we could find beautiful trees changing colors. The park was conveniently located a couple of blocks away from The Astor Hotel, which is their wedding venue, so we stopped to take a few portraits there, as well. I already know I’m going to love this venue!
Their April 2020 wedding at The Astor Hotel will be here before we know it!! I can’t wait! Enjoy some (ok, maybe a lot) of my favorites from their fall engagement session in the Third Ward and Juneau Park!!
