A spring engagement session on the Milwaukee Riverwalk
This is an exciting post for me to share! It’s my first engagement session of the season, and I’m kicking it off with Allie and Joey! Wow, I’ve known Allie’s family for a very long time! Her dad used to be one of the pastors at our church, now both of her parents are missionaries in Spain. Fun fact, Allie’s dad married Gustavo and I way back in the day! I kept thinking during our time together at the engagement session that Allie and Joey are close to the same age when Gustavo and I got married. Our first few years of marriage were so much fun and I’m excited for Allie and Joey to get to experience life together in such a new way. God has beautiful plans for them and their marriage and I’m so thankful that I get to be a small part of this fun season of their life!
Allie met Joey in youth group at our church, they were both on the youth worship team. It took a little while for them to warm up to each other. It wasn’t until they started spending more time together when they were with their mutual friends when they progressively started to develop their feelings for one another. A few months later Allie and Joey started hanging out every day before Allie went on a three-week trip to Spain to visit her parents. After she came back, they made things official and started dating, then about a year later Joey proposed during a quiet evening dinner at Allie’s condo! And the rest they say is history!
We started our engagement session at one end of the Milwaukee Riverwalk on a crisp spring evening. The forecast called for overcast skies, but we were pleasantly surprised to see the sun peeking through the clouds! We walked from one end of the riverwalk to the other, stopping for pictures along the way, and chatting about wedding plans. The nice thing about a chilly evening is that we didn’t have to fight crowds of people. It was very really peaceful walking along the river. The loudest thing we could hear was our own laughter, we had so much fun! Joey admits that he does not like getting his picture taken, but I could tell that even he was into it. I really felt the love and connection between these two young love-birds, it’s so evident from the photos in their engagement session!
I have no doubt that God has beautiful plans for these two. They are both laid-back, funny, and kind. It’s exciting to think of all that they will do together as a team!! I hope you enjoy my favorite images below!
